Michael David at Baker Creek Preserve

This month I had a photo session with the. coolest. kid. ever! Michael David is the sweetest little dinosaur aficionado you will ever meet. And just look at those sweet strawberry blond curls!

His grandfather contacted me to take birthday photos of Michael David (he’s turning 4 this month!) in his Jurassic Park Ranger outfit, which his mom made for him. Complete with little patches and everything. It was so cute!

I immediately knew that I would love working with this little guy. Upon arriving at Baker Creek Preserve, he patiently waited to be let out of his car seat. Then, he got his box of dinosaurs out of the car (along with his favorite dinosaur book) and started giving me all the dinosaur facts I could ever want. He can name every dinosaur he has, and he can tell you if it’s an herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore (be still, my heart!).

His favorite dino? The velociraptor. Hands down! Because they are sneaky and smart. He does a mean velociraptor impression, too.

Mind you, I had never met him before the session, but he’s so cheerful and friendly, it took him no time at all to warm up to me. I think my favorite part of the session was towards the end when we were wrapping up. His mom was planning to take him to the zoo afterwards, and we were heading towards the cars. He paused, looked up at his mom, and asked if I could come to the zoo with them! That really made my day!

Happy birthday to this tiny future archaeologist! You’ve got a big, bright future ahead of you, Michael David!

Does your family or child have a big birthday or milestone coming up that you want to remember? Contact me, and we’ll chat about setting up a session for you. And be sure to take a look at my other portrait blog posts.
