Caraco Family Portraits at Baker Creek
“I have a boo-boo on my toe.”
Arthur woefully told me about his hurt toe first thing when he got out of the car. Apparently, he had fallen down and scraped his shin and toe earlier in the day. This is a very big deal to a two-and-a-half-year-old, so I tried to be very understanding of his plight. He even had a little limp and “needed” to be carried at first (before he starting having fun!).
You’ll see Arthur’s boo-boo in many of these photos. After waiting patiently for a bit, and making some jokes, he mostly forgot about the injury. I was able to wrangle some smiles for these family photos! I love that the band-aid shows up in the photos so that Ashley and Adam, Arthur’s parents, can look back and remember exactly what was happening that day. Even if they might have been tired of talking about the boo-boo at the time!
The Caracos met me at Baker Creek Preserve in South Knoxville, a beautiful little spot that is great for mountain biking and walking and connects with other natural areas in South Knox. It’s especially gorgeous near the end of the day when the sun is setting. The Caracos are very laid back and calm. This was the perfect quiet, wooded spot for them. Baker Creek is always great for photos, no matter the time of year! That’s one of the things I love most about this location. That, and the fact that there’s also a new taco shop right down the street. Win-win! 🙂
Here are some of my favorites from working with this charming family. Be sure to check out my other family photography galleries.
